Vineyard

Single location in the municipality of Walporzheim in the Ahr growing region in Germany. The well-known German writer and politician Johann Gottfried Kinkel (1815-1882) described it in 1849 as "the most noble location in the whole of the Ahr valley". The name is derived from the "standing heat" there in summer. The location covers only 0.7 hectares of vineyards and is one of the smallest in Germany. It is separated by high walls from the adjacent areas of Kräuterberg in the west and Pfaffenberg in the east. The south-facing, steeply terraced vineyard at 110 to 180 meters above sea level with a slope of up to 60% on greywacke and weathered slate soil is exclusively planted with Pinot Noir. The location is owned by the Adeneuer winery.

Soil: Stony, fine sandy loam from greywack and slate weathered soil.

Size: 0.68 hectares | Exposure: South | Steepness: 15 - 60%

Wine style: Elegant, full-bodied and finesse-rich Pinot Noir. Good aging potential.
