Vineyard Schlossberg(Achkarren)

The vines for the wines from ERSTER LAGE thrive on a south-western steep slope on volcanic rock. These very stony soils made of volcanic weathered rock with a high heat storage capacity and the absolute basin position store the heat during the day, which is released back to the vines at night. The low rainfall of less than 500mm / year and the warm winds from the Burgundian gate, which meet the Kaiserstuhl here, characterize the wines from the Schlossberg.
