Coming from Boppard, about two kilometers downstream on a loop of the Rhine, the Mandelstein vineyard is in the middle of Bopparder Hamm. Then there are the Feuerlay and Engelstein vineyards before you reach Spay. The Upper Middle Rhine Valley has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since July 2002. The Mandelstein is a steep slate slope exposed to the south-southeast with a gradient of up to 70%. This special location between the mountain massifs of the Hunsrück and the Taunus heights, together with higher temperatures from the Rhine and slate soil, offer favorable natural conditions for viticulture. The combination of a long ripening period, mesoclimate and soil is unique and certainly responsible for the fact that the powerful Rieslings from this location had very fruity mineral aromas.

The Almond Stone is a slate slope exposed to the south-southeast. The vines here stand on special, finely weathered Devonian slate with almond-shaped inclusions. There are many of our steepest vineyards with a gradient of up to 70%. The combination of concentrated sunlight, deep roots
