wine description

1984 Riesling Crémant Réserve 84 | zero dosage

(35 years of yeast storage) The finest aromas of apricot, lovage and nutmeg - fantastic with tapas, air-dried ham or vegetarian dishes with nuts or pine nuts, kale with sesame dressing.

On the Saar, sparkling wine production using the classic champagne process has a tradition that goes back over a hundred years. Our Riesling sparkling wines mature for about 14 months after bottle fermentation. Our reserve crémants, high-quality vintage sparkling wines, are stored for much longer. They stay on the yeast for several decades. During this time an intense and noble aroma of essential spices, pine needles, smoke and dried fruits develops. The mousseux becomes subtle and the perlage in the glass becomes more delicate.

These exclusive food sparkling wines also go well with various fish dishes (e.g. sashimi) or fresh seafood such as oysters. A different vintage can be a tempting accompaniment to white meat
act with curry. In addition to the classic flûte, you can also use large red wine glasses and give him time to breathe, because the flower in the glass develops for up to 20 minutes due to the supply of oxygen that has been locked out for decades. We do not recommend these sparkling wines as an aperitif, but rather with meals or after a meal.

The marks and traces of rust that the crown cap has left in our damp cellars after decades can be seen later below the natural cork that closes the bottle after degorging.
