The Ockfener Bockstein, indisputably one of the most valuable Riesling sites in the world, rises majestically in a narrow side valley of the Saar. With its skeletal Devonian slate soil and the barren greywacke as a basis, this mountain creates finely spiced and characterful Riesling wines that have delighted connoisseurs with their unique minerality and longevity for centuries. In 2020, the perfect, long-ripened and healthy grapes with no signs of botrytis give this wine an athletic body, which impresses with the fine minerality paired with a floral note on the nose and ripe stone fruit on the palate, followed by a marathon of aromas of juicy fruit and acidity to reach its finale.
