Vinoble SCHLOSS SAARSTEINER
The VDP.GROSSE LAGE® SCHLOSS SAARSTEINER is located in a south-southeast orientation with a small turn to the west north of the town of Serrig. Their vineyards are 40 to 70 percent sloping to steep and extend from 140 to 220 meters above sea level. The steeper part of the GL lies in the west and faces the Saar. In the east it lies protected in a shallower hollow. The soils and the microclimate in the 8.5 hectare location show a high degree of variation - the main grape variety Riesling grows here on greywacke, slate and brown earth. Reddish inclusions can be found on the western slope. In the east there is also oil shale and very heavily weathered shale. The adjacent state forest supplies the area with water. (Source: VDP.de)
