Vineyard

With its 1.7 hectares, the VDP.GROSSE LAGE® STOLZENBERG is not only small, but also very steep. It's going downhill here at 100 to 150 percent, so the vines need terraces (they're called "choirs" here) to be able to grow here. Hatzenport, to which GL STOLTZENBERG belongs, is considered one of the warmest and driest places on the Moselle - the character of the south-facing vineyard is correspondingly hot and barren. The floors consist of grey-brown, sandy slate - the vines are between 85 and 160 meters above sea level. (Source: VDP.de)
