Vineyard Ürziger Würzgarten
The VDP.GROSSE LAGE® WÜRZGARTEN is a bright red and very steep amphitheater facing south to southeast opposite the community of Erden directly on the Moselle. The soil consists of red slate weathering - the proportion of rock is high. High concentrations of iron in the soil give the vineyard its vibrant color. The Riesling vines grow on pile-trained slopes that are up to 80 percent steep. The GL extends from 110 to 220 meters and is located in the Würzgarten single vineyard (53 hectares).History: The name comes from the custom of the wine-growing communities in the Middle Ages to produce spiced wines. For this purpose, herb gardens were created - such as the Würzgarten single location. According to a document from the 13th century, the feudal winemaker was called Godefridus Th. Wurzegard. Wine style: Spicy, fruity wines with a fine interplay of acids. Good aging potential.
