Vineyard

In the VDP.GROSSEN LAGE® SCHÄWER you will find a rock formation that is special and rare for this region: the gray slate from the Devonian era, which was brought to the surface here by the earth movements of the Upper Rhine Rift Valley. Oriented to the southeast and with up to 30 percent steep for the Palatinate, the dark slate soils store the sun's heat during the day and release it to the roots of the vines at night. At the same time, the Haardt Mountains protect this vineyard location from cool westerly winds. (Source: VDP.de)
