The VDP.GROSSE LAGE® IM SONNENSCHEIN lives up to its name - facing south, it lies at 160 to 180 meters and a slope of 5 to 20 percent on the slopes of the Queichtal. This valley runs in a west-east direction and is an offshoot of the Palatinate Forest. A large part of the top Palatinate locations, on the other hand, face east because they are on the slopes of the Haardt Mountains. The GL includes the original locations "Berg" and "Im Sonnenschein" within the individual location Im Sonnenschein. Due to the sinking and the faults of the Rhine Graben and the strong uplift of the Palatinate Forest, very old and deep-lying geological formations come to light in the area around Siebeldingen. Shell limestone, which was formed 220 million years ago in the Triassic period, is dominant in the soils of the GL IM SONNENSCHEIN. (Source: VDP.de)
