The VDP.GROSSE LAGE® REITERPFAD – HOFSTÜCK is partially surrounded by heat-storing walls and traversed at a height of 150 to 160 meters above sea level with its ten hectares in the single position Reiterpfad (77 hectares). The climate in the south to east oriented vineyards, which are protected from cold weather by the near edge of the Palatinate Forest, is Mediterranean. The GL is one of the warmest locations in the Palatinate. The GL HOFSTÜCK is located on a limestone plinth, the ground itself is interspersed with red sandstone, loess and occasionally basalt. Riesling is grown almost exclusively in this location.
