Vineyard
The VDP.GROSSE LAGE® JUNGFER is located in a small depression east of the town of Hallgarten. Protected from the wind and oriented from southeast to southwest, it collects the heat of the day in the gravelly-sandy quartzite soils and is released to the vines at night - so the grapes ripen until the night. The location is rather flat with a gradient of up to 10 percent. It has 6.5 hectares and is up to 200 meters above sea level. History: The location was probably named by the Cistercian monks living in the Rheingau in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary. (Source: VDP.de)
