Robert Weil
Dr. Robert Weil bought the first vineyards in the Kiedricher Berg in 1867. At that time, the winery was constantly expanding with the best vineyard parcels in Kiedrich. The clear commitment to uncompromising quality already shaped the daily work in the vineyard at that time. The result of this work were extraordinary Rieslings which were sold to many imperial and royal houses in Europe. They were considered the white counterparts of the red Bordeaux Grand Cru wines. Weil Riesling was drunk in the hotspots of the golden 20s, of course in Berlin, in the Hotel Adlon and in the LZ127 Graf Zeppelin airship on its maiden voyage to New York.
In 1907 they joined the VDP and their son Dr. Wilhelm Weil managed the winery until the 1960s. He was followed by Robert Weil and today Wilhelm Weil is the fourth generation to run the winery.
I am very happy to be able to offer ROBERT WEIL's wines to my customers. The fruity-sweet and noble-sweet Rieslings are fascinating with their interplay of sweetness and acidity, and because I often have a bit of a problem with the vineyards directly on the Rhine in terms of elegance and aging, the collection is simply a great experience. A young late harvest simply has to thunder on the palate, then it also works with the aging potential.
