Vineyard

Due to the proximity to the valley basin of the Neckar, the growing season of the Untertürkheim gypsum begins on average one week earlier than in the surrounding area. The vineyards are protected in this valley basin, as cold air flows right and left past the valley cuttings. The Keuper floors store heat very well due to their strong gypsum inclusions. The name of this location comes from the gypsum deposits in the ground, which were mined here at the former demolition sites in the mountain between 1870 and 1970. However, the vineyard itself has been producing wines for 1200 years that are known for their clear minerality, complexity and good acidity buffering.
